From the gameplay that's been revealed thus far, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl seems to be exactly what the title would indicate. The Smash Bros -esque Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will bring together characters from SpongeBob SquarePants , Invader Zim , and even classics such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles . This is likely the first time in recent years that a large studio has attempted to put together a game so similar to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros . ser

 
**Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl ** was announced with a bombastic new trailer. The game is a platform fighter in the vein of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and features characters from across the Nickelodeon cartoon catalog. In total, there will be 20 different characters in the game, though the developers only showed off 14 of them in this initial onslaught. Alongside the character reveals, the team also gave fans a look at some of the stages they'll be playing

 
While there are a few references to both the Kevin Smith filmography and past beat 'em ups, Mall Brawl doesn't fill every square inch of each stage with nostalgic callbacks. This is for the best, as the times when it does something special stand out that much more. A shopping cart ride reminiscent of the Battletoads Turbo Tunnel and several specific bosses keep things interesting without overstaying their welcome, and the game's ending is perfect considering the source mater

 
The first stage shown off for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl seems to be related to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles . Though it could also just be a basic stage that's not related to any property. Each character is shown popping up on a rooftop location. In several shots, the characters are also battling across the stage, which means it will likely be playable. Next, is at least one stage based on Spongebob Squarepants . Early in the trailer, a few characters are fighting on a pirate ship. Later, the characters are fighting through the Jelly Fish Fields. It's tough to say, but this could be a single stage where the ship pops up in the middle of a battle. Either way, they're definitely straight from the Spongebob cart

Enemies gang up on an isolated player often, getting off cheap shots that could be avoided with a second character on screen. Playing alone does allow for switching between Jay and Silent Bob at will, so it's not impossible to beat. Still, bringing a friend to the couch is very much recommen

As far as gameplay goes, both slackers have just a jump and a pair of attacks, letting players perform a dropkick and grab foes when combining the two. It's a simplistic control scheme that gets the job done without much flair, and the lack of something like a life-draining super move is surprising. Then again, it might not need that extra level of strategy thanks to its accessibility. The game is definitely easier than many of its 8-bit contemporaries, offering a true challenge only after the first playthrough wraps up.
