During the company's final State of Play livestream for 2019, Sony showed a 60-second teaser for a new Ghost of Tsushima trailer. The full trailer will be shown at The Game Awards on December 12 at 8:30 p.m. EST, but the State of Play clip gives viewers a glimpse at what the new trailer could reveal. It begins with a group of armored Mongolian soldiers, wheeling a heavy cart through a yellow forest on the island of Tsushima, Japan. They spot the game's masked protagonist, Jin, silhouetted dramatically against the light at the edge of the trees. They then draw their swords and charge, and Jin responds by drawing his and pulling a smoke bomb from his belt, slamming it into the ground below him. It's not much, [[https://Tsushimagame.com/|Tsushimagame.com]] but it does give viewers a hint at how Jin could develop into a "samurai commando, " gaining new tools (like smoke bombs) over the course of the g Although Sly Cooper 2 and 3 explored less linear sections and had a greater sense of freedom in their level design, Sucker Punch’s first true open world title was 2009’s InFamous, which featured a fully-realized metropolitan area known as Empire City. The sizable environment featured plenty of optional encounters, side missions and collectibles to entertain the player outside of campaign missions, all of which helped boost Cole MacGrath’s super-powered abilities and sense of morality. Sucker Punch continued to explore large cities in the form of New Marais and Seattle in InFamous 2 and Second Son respectively, all the while expanding the ways players could traverse the city in quick manners, such as grinding on electric wires or levitation. While Jin’s ability to traverse via horse is significantly less outlandish, the sparse environments that have been shown off so far drastically contrast the hustle and bustle of the cities of InFamous, but still retain that same attention to detail and natural reactions that result from the player’s actions, from the blowing leaves in the wind to the mud and blood flying through the air during a combat encounter. Through a focus on transportation and immersive details, Sucker Punch is utilizing the smaller elements that bolstered InFamous’ reputation to enhance Ghost of Tsushima’s take on a completely different type of civilization. The biggest PS4 exclusive of the month is _ Persona 5 Royal, _ a definitive edition of the original 2016 _ Persona 5 _ with extra story content that comes out at the end of the month. Sony is also putting out _ MLB The Show 20, _ an annual series that consistently ranks as having one of the best sports games every y Nobody knows when The Last of Us Part II will finally release, and if they do, they're not telling. The next largest Sony first-party title after Naughty Dog's sequel is likely Ghost of Tsushima , the new IP from developer Sucker Punch, a studio best known for working on games like Sly Cooper and Infamous . The Japan-set fallen samurai revenge thriller looks to be shaping up to be one of 2020's breakout hits, but now fans are concerned that Sony might delay the highly-anticipated title from its previously-scheduled June 26 street date, to the point where fears about the game's release status have caused Ghost to become a trending topic on Twitter, as recently reported by Game Ra Between its experienced development studio, beautiful visuals, and intriguing setting, Ghost of Tsushima is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated PlayStation-exclusive games on the horizon. While the game never had a release date, Ghost of Tsushima was reportedly delayed internally, and it probably won't release until late 2020 . If that's the case, it's entirely possible that Ghost of Tsushima could be a PS5 launch title. Either way, it's not unlikely that Ghost of Tsushima' s Game Awards trailer will finally reveal an official release d The release window for Ghost of Tsushima comes from a trailer at The Game Awards . Just a few days ago, Sucker Punch teased that the game would get a new reveal at The Game Awards . Although it was known the game was going to be showed, it wasn't apparent just how much was going to be revealed. The good news is that there's plenty of new things to talk about when it comes to Ghost of Tsushima , as The Game Awards trailer is over four and a half minutes l That said, this seems to be Sony's MO over the course of the PS4 generation when it comes to showing off new games. Despite revealing many of their projects years in advance this gen, Sony has also kept most of these games well under wraps, only releasing a new trailer or screenshots here and there before then showing quite a bit more gameplay very close to launch. Ghost of Tsushima has actually had a very similar pre-release timeline to God of War , at least when comparing the two so far. Speaking for myself, I think that this manner of being relatively silent about games that are in development for long stretches of time actually generates more excitement in the long
