Project Ego sounded like nothing I had played before. Being able to pick and choose which quests to take wasn't exactly groundbreaking, but the idea of the game taking place across the character's lifetime was intriguing. There was talk about how the character would be designed and uniquely tailored to the player's gameplay and they would be able to have children that would have a significant impact in the world. The character would receive unique scars from battle, they could plant a sapling and watch it grow in a massive tree throughout the course of the game and the NPCs would have unique reactions to the player based on their deeds to create the sense of a living world the player was truly a part of.

 
That leads us to one big candidate: Playground Games, makers of the recently released and well-received Xbox-exclusive Forza Horizon , who have been known to be working on an open-world RPG for Microsoft for some time. I don't really have any problems with Astral Chain and it's super innovative, which is why I gave it a 10 earlier this year. Astral Chain features the tight and rewarding action PlatinumGames is known for but is quite accessible at the same time. Its detective case-solving portions feel like better versions of similar segments in the Batman: Arkham games. Astral Chain is one of the best-looking games on Nintendo Switch. After traveling through the Bloodstone Demon Door, Fable 2 players are transported to a peaceful, snowy path in the woods. The sense of freedom became apparent in the early stages of the game during the tutorial. There was no fighter, mage or rogue class; the player simply trained in archery, melee combat and spellcraft. How these skills developed was based on what approach was used in battle and doing successful combos with any of them would multiply the gained experience. The experience was divided into the three combat categories along with general experience that could be distributed as desired. Personal experience seemed that mastering consistently high combat multipliers with the bow was tricky, but by halfway through the game the character would easily be a formidable magic using tank. Bandits, balverines and trolls quickly changed from dangerous enemies to cannon fodder.

The Medal of Honor series was often criticized for offering one bland WWII game after another. In a world where Halo was gaining ground and Call of Duty was pushing FPS games as the big genre, gamers were getting tired of playing the same scenario over and over and over. While the new Medal of Honor was praised for its change in setting, it was more of the same the genre already had to offer. We had Battlefield: Bad Company and Call of Duty already and this game followed a similar path, only without anything new attached to it. In doing so, it just became another run-of-the-mill shooter. It would have its audience, but wouldn't be the groundbreaking experience it promised to be for critics or gamers, and certainly not a contender to take down Call of Duty like EA promi

 
A new story with personal stakes similar to the sibling revenge plot of Fable 2 or the deposed prince tale of Fable 3 but greatly expanded with a larger number of supporting characters would be huge. Plus, think of all the new tech they could pour into your
